Samuel P. Wertheimer, Ph.D. is a Managing Partner and Senior Scientific Advisor at Brookline, where he helps public and private companies navigate the scientific and clinical development issues they face. Before joining Brookline, Dr. Wertheimer was a Partner in the private equity group at OrbiMed Advisors, a leading healthcare investment firm, where he helped raise four venture capital funds totaling more than $1.4 billion in committed capital. He led investments in companies that brought several drugs to market, including TREANDA®, CAYSTON®, ORBACTIV®, and HORIZANT®, and has served on the boards of both private and public companies.
Dr. Wertheimer holds a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University, an M.P.H. with honors from Yale University, and a Ph.D. from New York University.
