Kumar Raja, Ph.D.

Kumar Raja, Ph.D. is a Senior Biotechnology Research Analyst at Brookline with more than a decade of equity research experience in healthcare, focused on biotechnology. He was previously a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst covering biotechnology at Roth Capital Partners. Dr. Raja began his equity research career in 2010 as a Senior Associate Analyst on Citi Research’s biotechnology team, which consistently ranked highly in the Institutional Investor All-America survey. He pairs a strong quantitative and scientific background with deep knowledge of drug development, intellectual property, FDA and EMA regulation, reimbursement, and clinical science. He applies bottoms-up scientific and financial analysis across therapeutic areas and market capitalizations to identify compelling investment opportunities. He has worked extensively with leading U.S. institutional clients. Dr. Raja also conducted postdoctoral research at Mayo Clinic on the epigenetic causes of cancer and at the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute on the role of human bone marrow stem cells in normal and leukemic hematopoiesis.

Dr. Raja holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Bowling Green State University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
